Thursday’s Workout: Zumba Glutes

So, today I received my Zumba Glutes CD/DVD set in the mail, so I figured I’d try it out.  Nice little 40 min workout.  Even though I’m not teaching Zumba right now, I still like to pop in a DVD every now and again and dance some calories away.  Maybe soon I can find a gym that needs a part time Zumba teacher, so I can get back into it…

Jog at Belle Haven Park and Marina

Well, I had some setbacks with illness and such, but I made it out for a run this afternoon at Belle Haven Park here in Alexandria. It’s one of my most favorite places to go running, because it’s such a nice paved trail with almost no hills…I despise hills…
I had a decent 3 mile slow jog, a little over 33 minutes, but that’s about normal for me. Considering how little I’ve actually done in the last week, I was surprised that the jog felt so good. It was also 68 degrees and sunny out, so that certainly didn’t hurt my cause…:)
Anyway, I said I’d do it, so I guess I have to. I’m posting a “Before” pic, and my weight today is 158.6 lbs. Ugh, seeing the picture is one hell of a motivator…

To begin the beginning…

I have worked out the last 2 days with a couple of different things (Focus T25 on Tuesday and Barre3 today), but my adventure will officially begin on Nov. 1st. I will post a pic and my starting weight on that day, so stay tuned for all the news…
Any suggestions on how to go about this, or things I should add to the adventure are greatly appreciated!! 🙂

The Beginning

I am a recent transplant from the beautiful state of Arkansas to a place over 1,000 miles away from everything I have ever known and loved…Northern Virginia.  We have now been here going on 4 months, and I have finally started to think of this as my home.  However, I am now facing a new problem…I have gained about 15 pounds since embarking on this journey.  I was teaching a lot of Zumba classes and running regularly prior to our move.  But since then, I have given in to the stress of settling into a new place, finding a new job, etc…Long story short, I’m sick of this weight gain!!  I have decided that for the next 2 months (the final 2 months of 2013…whoa…) I will embark upon a “Fitness Adventure”.  I have tons of workout videos in all kinds of different genres, lots of online workout resources, a million different places to go running, I could go on and on…but you get the point.  Every day for the next 2 months (for now), I will do a different workout, or find a new and different place to workout, or something different every day.  I hope that by making this thing an adventure, I will be able to stick to it and make some real differences.  This morning, I weighed in at slightly over 158 pounds.  Lets see where I can get during this new adventure of mine…
